Financial Planning for Business owners

What happens if your business has a bad year - or You can't be there?

Building financial strength outside the business isn't a hedge against failure. It's what sound planning actually looks like.

No obligation • Initial conversations are complementary.

The question nobody answers directly

"Do I have enough – and am I doing this right?"

Most people running a business aren't confused about money. They're confused about competing advice.

They've heard other advisors only speak generically about retirement. They've seen three ads this week promising guaranteed income. Their brother-in-law has opinions.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that noise is an actual question that deserves a real answer — not a product pitch, not a seminar invitation.

What it deserves is a conversation with someone whose only job is to help you think clearly about it. That's what this is.

I'm Will Kim

I grew up watching what happens when hard work isn't matched by the right knowledge.

My parents built a successful small business in Southern California — it took them almost a lifetime. They had the discipline. They had the drive. What they lacked were the tools and concepts that could have helped them retire far sooner.

That's why I do this work. Not to sell products — but to give people the clarity and confidence that my parents never had. An educated client makes better decisions. That's the only principle this practice is built on.

What Business Owner Planning Actually Involves

Most business owners are exceptional at building value inside their business. The question worth asking is whether any of that value is being built outside of it.

Business owner planning is about looking at the full picture — not just what the business is worth, but what happens if it's worth less than expected, or if you can't be there:

01

If you stepped away from the business tomorrow, what would your personal financial position actually look like?

02

Do you have a retirement strategy that exists independent of the business eventually selling?

03

What happens to the business — and your family's financial stability — if something unexpected happens to you?

04

Is your compensation structure set up for both tax efficiency and long-term personal wealth?

These aren't questions the business answers on its own. They're questions worth asking while you still have flexibility

this might be fore you if...

I work best with people who are ready to look clearly.

Have built something meaningful

It could be a career, a business, an asset base... you want to make sure the financial strategy around it is keeping pace.

Want one trusted perspective

It feel like you're getting information from too many directions and want a knowledgable partner who looks at the full picture.

Knows something needs attention

There's something in your financial life that is important for your future, you just haven't had the right conversation about it.

Have had a life event

It could be a business transition, an income change, an inheritance, a loss... something that shifted the equation and hasn't fully been accounted for yet.

Wants to protect loved ones "just in case"

It feel like you're getting information from too many directions and want a knowledgable partner who looks at the full picture.

Appreciates someone who listens

It's your family, your career, your business, your legacy and you understand it best so you are looking for a financial partner to understand, guide, and protect it.

I don't work with everyone, and I'm not trying to. What I offer is focused, informed guidance for people who take their financial future seriously — and who want to work with someone who does too.

how this works

What retirement planning actually involves

There's no agenda in an initial conversation. No pitch. No follow-up pressure campaign. Just a real exchange with someone who thinks about this for a living.

1

The Discovery Conversation

We talk about where you are, what you're thinking about, and what questions are keeping you up at night. Understanding your situation — not pitching solutions.

2

The Clarity Review

I'll look at what you have, how it's structured, and share observations honestly — including the things that might be uncomfortable to hear.

3

Your Decision

You decide if working together makes sense. No hard close. If there's a fit, we talk about what that looks like. If there isn't, you leave with more clarity than you came in with.

The best time to get clear & have a plan is before you need to be.

The conversations that make the biggest difference are almost never the urgent ones.

They're the ones people have while they still have the time and flexibility to act on what they learn — before a deadline, a market event, or an unexpected change forces the decision.

If you're thinking about any of this, it's worth paying attention to.

A conversation costs you nothing. The clarity it gives you is worth considerably more.
